DANLERS 'trailing edge' quiet soft start dimmers are suitable for fitting into MK grid plus (MK), Crabtree grid (CB) and Eurodata plates (EU). The ‘trailing edge’ technology helps limit the amount of electrical and audio noise generated by the dimmer and load and is the technology specified for certain low voltage transformers. The soft start feature ramps up (virtually indiscernible) the output voltage which can greatly increase lamp life, particularily for low voltage lamps. A short press will switch the load off or restore it softly to its previous setting. A holding press will dim the load up and down in turn. The load can be switched and dimmed from several locations by using DANLERS matching slave switches
Can control 40-400W of: Incandescent lamps, Mains halogen lamps (must include integral safety fuse), Dimmable electronic transformers (max. 6 transformers).
DANLERS ‘trailing edge’ quiet soft start dimmers can also control many LED lamps and fittings. The minimum load can be as low as 4W with some lamps, however this can vary depending on lamp manufacturer.
Min. and Max. wattage:
•Resistive, mains halogen or dimmable electronic transformer load: 40 - 400W
•Dimmable wire-wound or toroidal transformer inductive loads: Not suitable
•LED lamps and fittings*: 10 - 200W*
The maximum total load for grid plates is as follows: Number of gangs Maximum load wattage
• 2 : 630W
• 3 or 4 : 1000W
• 6, 8, 9 or 12 : 1000W per row
• 8 or 24 : 1200W per row
Minimum Load: If the load is less than 40W resistive e.g. when dimming compact fluorescent or LED lamps, the lamp may flicker. The load can be augmented using a load resistor (DANLERS order code: RESLOADE*) connected at the mains lamp fitting or across the input to the low voltage transformer.
* RESLOADE: resistive load, used to eliminate lamp instability and flicker when dimming non-resistive loads such as mains directly dimmable LED lamps or dimmable transformers. Designed for Danlers Grid trailing edge dimmers (DQDGD), and sold separately - please see RESLOADE listing for more details.
