LED Panels Help Ensure Efficient Light Output

Being a business owner, one of the major responsibilities you have towards your employees is to provide a good working environment for them. If you have a large office with more than 500+ employees,  you must be well aware of the infrastructure required to stay productive, including computer systems, office equipment and stationary, air conditioning, ventilation and last but most important, effective lighting. However, providing a large office space with ample amount of lighting is not an easy task.

A typical lighting system, such as found in large global offices with  high ceilings comprises standard fluorescent tubes, often mounted in grids. These consume a lot of electricity, and require a lot of maintenance to replace failed lamps . What you really need is a lighting solution, which is smartly designed to deliver bright and high quality light. Switch to LED panels for far superior light quality at a fraction of the energy consumption. They can light up the largest office spaces. What’s more, these light panels will deliver a substantial savings on your energy bills. Furthermore, the high output of these panels means you can de-lamp many rooms, meaning 1 panel for every 2 fluorescent grids replacement. This will further save cost and electricity.

Another major benefit of LED Ceiling Panels is their durability. They are designed to last for up to 50,000 hours (L70), thereby reducing your maintenance costs as well.. These panels will give your office a sophisticated and professional look. LED Panels are designed to be the same size as common fluorescent grids, enabling them to be a straight retrofit swap. Installation of the panels is thus very quick and cheap. A whole office can be refitted in a matter of hours.

Novel Energy Lighting supplies LED light panels from quality manufacturers in the lighting industry; panels like the Philips CoreLine, Thorn Omega, Heathfield Premier, MEGE LED, etc. Also available are round LED panels, which are a retrofit replacement to 18W and 26W CFL downlights. The square ones come in varied sizes of 600x600m to replace quad 2ft fluorescent tube fittings, 1200x300mm to replace twin 4ft tube fittings and 1200x600mm to replace quad 4ft tube fittings.

If you are looking for a good lighting solution for your existing office space, then consider the Philips CoreLine range of LED light panels. These panels come with a slim design and height of <35mm for ease of installation. They are made to replace your functional TL5 luminaries and give you an amazing savings of 30% on your lighting bills. For additional peace of mind, Novel Energy Lighting will provide you with these energy efficient light panels with a warranty of 3 years.

LED Candles Create a Sophisticated Ambience

It is the clever ambience lighting of five star hotels and swanky restaurants that helps them look so welcoming. If you are a hospitality business owner , you know how important lighting is to guests and your bottom line. Therefore, make sure you go for the best when setting up your lighting infrastructure, including installing chandeliers and wall scones, to give the place a sophisticated feel. Bad lighting, or the wrong selection, can lead to poor customer experience, which can be detrimental to sales, as customers write bad feedback about your business.

LED Candles

One mistake that many restaurant and hotel owners make is to fit traditional incandescent and halogen light bulbs into fancy fixtures to save money in the short term. Granted that incandescent lights generally deliver a warm ambience and aesthetic feel but they can easily ruin the entire look of the area as well when they keep blowing. Due to their inefficiency, they generate a tremendous amount of heat. When used continuously for prolonged periods they will burn out altogether. This often happens in as little as a few hundred hours of operation, and can also scorch your fittings. These dead bulbs will leave dark spots in your chandeliers and wall fixtures, thereby ruining their visual appeal.

Keep the classy look of your commercial area intact by installing good quality light bulbs. With LED Candles, you will get that amazing decorative lighting effect that will enhance the image of your hotel or restaurant dining area. They also give that visually appealing look to guests bedrooms. These lights have to ability to use electricity efficiently without compromising on light quality. What’s more, your energy costs will be 80% less than when you were using standard incandescent bulbs.

Novel Energy Lighting recommends using the Philips LED DiamondSpark and Megaman LED Candles, for all your lighting requirements in hospitality, commercial, and retail businesses, and homes. LED Candles from these manufacturers come in dimmable and non-dimmable configurations and can be used as a retrofit to your existing fixtures with E14, B15 and B22 sockets. Since these lights have an impressive lifetime of over 20,000 hours, they will decrease your maintenance costs substantially and can pay for themselves in a matter of months.

As these lights are designed to be a retrofit replacement for traditional 25W and 40W incandescent bulbs, you will get the same aesthetic feel, but with even better light quality. The slender shape and eye-catching design of these LED Candles will definitely give your room or area a decorative and sparkly lighting effect. Novel Energy Lighting will offer you these unique candles at very reasonable prices and provide a warranty of 3 years.

Lux Magazine reports:

Bad food. Bad service. And now it’s official: Bad lighting can ruin a restaurant’s business.
Nearly a third of Brits have walked out of a pub or eatery because the illumination turned them off, according to a June survey by utility npower.
The trade publication BigHospitality reported that 17 percent of the 1,500 respondents beat a retreat because the lighting was too bright, while 12 percent bolted for the opposite reason – the lights were too dim .
‘We can probably all think of an occasion that has been spoiled by a restaurant or bar not getting the ambience right and lighting is a crucial part of that,’ said npower’s head of customer service for small business, Rachel Vincent. ‘Our research shows how damaging bad lighting can be to the success of a business. For this reason, business owners need to think about more than just their menus or location. Ambience is vital to securing new customers and getting old ones to return.’
The survey also showed that lighting mattered more than price to 66 percent of the respondents when picking a venue for a date, and that it outweighed music to 53 percent of them. A whopping 88 percent said that the lighting in general would affect how much they enjoy a date or a romantic meal.
BigHospitality advised restaurants to vary the lighting across sections in order to appeal to different ideas of ambience. It also noted that different lighitng matches well with different foods.
‘For example, light bar food goes with soft lighting while sushi looks better in a brigther light,’ it said.
So how would you make a Big Mac look appetizing?

NEW RESEARCH FROM OSRAM FINDS HOTEL GUESTS EXPERIENCE POOR LIGHTING

New Osram research has found that in the majority of more than 350,000 global hotel reviews online which mention lighting, guest reports are criticising lighting quality. The lighting manufacturer suggests hotel managers run a health check of their lighting to avoid further disappointing their guests.

Hotels in London were subjected to nearly 10,000 reviews specifically on lighting, with many travellers complaining about dim, bad and sparse lighting in their rooms.  European hotels were not spared criticism with visitors comparing lighting in a Copenhagen hotel to that of a waiting room in a railway station and others complaining that they found working in their room impossible because of poor lighting.

“Lighting is clearly important to travellers, so much so that they take the time to go online to warn future guests about their bad experience.  One recent visitor to London felt that his stay at a fabulous hotel was ruined solely by inadequate lighting in the rooms.  This lasting impression remains with them when they re-book in the future, meaning they’ll probably shop around and consider alternative places to stay, comments David Ellis, National Sales Manager, Specification at Osram.

Peter Veale, Managing Director at Firefly Lighting Design says, “It’s a shame that travellers are disappointed with the quality and choice of lighting in the hotels they stay in.  Interior designers fully appreciate the huge role that lighting can play in creating that ‘wow’ factor but it only makes up five per cent of the entire design project so can unfortunately be overlooked.

Veale continues; “There is an excellent range of light fittings on the market for hoteliers and designers to choose from that are both energy efficient and create that ‘wow’ factor.  These give them a great opportunity to introduce better quality light at a competitive price and replace halogen with LED.

To help hotels across the UK improve travellers’ impressions of its lighting, Osram is sharing its five-point guide for hoteliers to achieve that ‘wow’ factor with lighting.

Make sure lighting isn’t an after-thought – urge your design consultant to look at lighting considerations early in any design project

Consider cost-effective ways of making a difference with your lighting.  For instance, don’t feel you can afford changing all your halogen to LED lighting? Then perhaps invest a small portion of your budget into new fittings, so you can dim your current lights to create different atmospheres in your establishment

Don’t blind your guests with new technology they don’t understand how to use – when making a change to your lighting.  For instance, if you’re going to introduce new lighting control in the rooms make sure they’re simple for your guests to use

Consider simple decorative lighting solutions – these can make a huge difference and make an impact on your guests as they enter your establishment

Don’t forget the small lights – guests can become frustrated if mirror lights provide poor light when getting ready or bedside lamps are not bright enough for them to read.

As part of its extensive LED luminaires range for hospitality, Osram’s Essentials range will provide hoteliers with the opportunity to update standard lighting systems to more energy efficient and durable LED technology.  Compared to standard luminaires they save up to 85% of energy. Hotel designers may look more to Osram’s range of flexible LED light sources for enhancing architectural features or changing ambient and accent lighting.

LED Candles – Sparkling and Efficient

If you choose to install ordinary incandescent bulbs in your home or other commercial area, you will not get the bright and elegant aesthetic you have been looking for. Regular bulbs will start to show signs of burn out within the first couple of months of use, which will ruin the look of chandeliers or wall scones. Traditional incandescent bulbs also consume a lot of energy, since most of the electricity you input into the bulb is emitted as heat.. Incandescent bulbs may be cheap to buy, but you will spend time constantly replacing them in hard to reach areas, and you will pay large electricity bills. If you have elegant chandeliers, make sure you use good quality LED lighting, which pays for itself in months and lasts for years.

Osram in five-year deal to light Vatican museums

Lux magazine reports:

26 JUNE 2014

Osram is to supply lighting to the Vatican City’s museums under a new five-year framework agreement.

The German lighting giant has already supplied LED lighting for the famous Sistine Chapel (pictured), with the help of funding from a European Union technology programme.

The new agreement, covering ‘possible future projects’, aims to develop scientific and technological cooperation ‘to guarantee that the artistic heritage of the Vatican Museums is safeguarded’.

Antonio Paolucci, director of the Vatican Museums, said: ‘Our art and architecture present the most demanding requirements for light. Therefore, we are using outstanding lighting installations. With the opening of the Sistine Chapel at the end of October, the public can witness first impressions of this.’

Osram’s scheme at the Sistine Chapel uses 7,000 LEDs and is designed to conserve the artwork, while providing 10 times as much light as the previous scheme, and only using 60 per cent of the energy.

LED Candles- Effect of a candle with Safer Lighting

Technology provides you with LED Candles that have a soothing effect of a candle but being flameless these are safer to be around.

Prevent the risk of fire hazards by switching to these environment safe candles. Along with being harmless, these consume 80% less energy than the conventional candle lamps.

LED Candles

Candle lamps are generally used in chandeliers or wall sconces to create elegant ambience and make a statement. These flameless candles are durable and keep glowing for up to 20,000 hours. With these LEDs you can have an ambience that you desire at a much lesser rate than you could imagine.

Candle flames produce a very warm white light, which is often not emulated well by candle lamps, which is why it is important to select the right lamps. Quality LED lamps deliver the warmth required. The improved light quality provides consistent colour from every angle – even when dimmed in the most intimate of ambiences.

Novel Energy Lighting supplies Philips LED candles, and also offers a range of alternative lamps from other quality manufacturers like Megaman. These LED lamps offer brightness that equals 40W of traditional candles. These produce quality brightness with much less heat.

Philips MasterLED range of candles has been specially developed for chandeliers, to enhance the decorative and aesthetic appeal of luminaires – whether they are switched on or off.

The new DiamondSpark lamps incorporate an evolutionary new shaped lens that allows the optics to radiate brilliant, clear and sparkling warm white LED light.
